Redhawks are the 2014 Senior B Champions Print E-mail

Coquitlam, BC – All across Canada and Native nations, teams started the season with the goal of hoisting the President’s Cup.  In 2014, the Redhawks earned that honor by defeating the Six Nations Rivermen 9-7 and became the second time they were crowned as President’s Cup Champions; the first title came in 2010.prescupfinal43

Coquitlam, BC – The Onondaga Redhwks punched their ticket to the 2014 Can-Am Finals with a win over the St. Albert Miners 10-8.pres_cup11

The semi-final began just like their previous meeting a few nights ago.  The Miners deliberate offense and physical defense matched up against the Onondaga’s solid goal keeping, help defense, and creative sticks creating a low scoring affair.  Both keepers were up to the task for over the first 5 minutes of play keeping the score at zero apiece.

Onondaga ended pool play with a 13-3 win over the Nanaimo Timbermen. The player of the game was Dustin Hill.

With the win the Redhawks move into the medal round.  They will face the St. Albert Miners at 10pm EST for a birth in the goal medal game. Onondaga defeated St. Albert in pool play by a goal. The other semi-final features the first place Kahnawake vs Six Nations. Six Nations defeated Kahnawake earlier in pool play by a goal.  This is lookings to be some great medal round games.
